Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Right To Food (RTF)

From a social, cultural, educational and economic perspective, the Dalit community is more vulnerable to climate change, risk of disaster and food security. Their voices are not often listened to with regards to environmental and climate justice. So they remain outside the mainstream process of climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction and food security. Realizing this fact, JMC has been active 2010 utilizing their right as citizens of Nepal guaranteed by their constitution in section (2) sub section (5)(J). In order to make aware the community level people on environmental issues and to advocate with policy makers to include Dalit voices on environmental policies. A radio Magazine VOLIKA LAGI AJAI has been produced and broadcasted through eight different radio stations of the country, 14 episodes of this program have been aired.
