Kathmandu, March 11 — Jagaran Media Center (JMC) has expressed serious concern over the death of a 16-year-old girl, Inisa BK, following an alleged gang rape in Birendranagar of Surkhet, and has demanded a fair and impartial investigation into the incident.
Issuing a press statement on Falgun 27 -082 (11 March 2026), the organization said the incident involving the teenage girl from Birendranagar is extremely tragic, inhumane, and sensitive, drawing national attention. JMC has urged the concerned authorities to ensure a transparent investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, and guarantee justice for the victim and her family.
According to the statement, the girl was found unconscious on the morning of Falgun 23 and was taken to the Provincial Hospital in Surkhet for treatment. Doctors later declared her dead. JMC emphasized that the incident has deeply traumatized the victim’s family and called for a thorough and transparent investigation, including a public disclosure of the post-mortem report. The organization also demanded strict legal action against those responsible in accordance with the law.
Furthermore, JMC urged the state to take effective measures to prevent such incidents from recurring and to ensure the safety and security of women and girls.
